The members of Caravan 2000 work to encourage everyone to make use of the same basic rights as their fellow citizens. We will help individuals with social, educational, mental or physical
disadvantages to acquire the same quality of life as wealthier citizens.
Goals - What do we want to achieve?
- To set up permanent cooperation between the leading members of Caravan 2000.
- To create opportunities for social inclusion and a better quality of life for people with disabilities and others at risk of exclusion.
- To create conditions for disadvantaged people to control their destiny and protect their dignity.
- To combat false stereotypes which devalue the lives of others through misunderstanding, prejudice, lack of general knowledge or lack of respect for human rights as defined by the United
Nations.
How do we want to achieve these goals?
- We want to create partnerships between European and other international, public and private groups with the same aims as Caravan 2000.
- We want to develop new tools and methods for social inclusion to prevent the loss of self-worth and eventual exclusion.
- We want to promote legal, social and political safeguards to improve the living conditions of individuals and groups in danger of devaluation.
- We want to raise public awareness public awareness about the negative consequences of neglecting the rights of people with intellectual, physical and other disabilities, which lead inevitably to
discrimination and the unjust treatment of people who deserve the same opportunities as all other people.
Our concrete actions include: international professional exchanges; joint, simultaneous conferences with many different members; seminars and workshops to exchange experience and knowledge; tours and
vacations to allow people to explore the world and get to know different cultures and people.
